I'm guessing we'll see more of him later. ![]() At least here they introduced a new kid, the "rebel," who came in with all of two lines to establish himself. I get that, like Boy Meets World, the other students are basically set dressing, but it's getting a little ridiculous how much they drop everything and sit in silence to watch these four main characters hash out their differences. That said, it was pretty strange how public they made it, playing the video for the entire school. Besides that, I thought the final scene at school was pretty sweet, with Riley and Maya getting Lucas's Texas friends to record a video for Lucas. Hopefully that storyline comes back around since, honestly, it was one of the few solid moments to come out of the episode. In just a few short lines, we learned a lot about his family life, including the fact that Lucas's dad still lives in Texas. For instance, I thought Lucas's subplot this week was really strong. Seriously, Girl Meets World needs to cool it with the insane, over-the-top visuals, as they tend to undermine the otherwise interesting stories and character arcs. While I didn't much care for this storyline, it wasn't until Maya brought an actual horse to school that I completely checked out of it. Personally, I would have rather seen the candidates running on legitimate platforms, not gimmicks. ![]() Instead, we got extended bits about Farkle being a mad dictator and Riley being a princess, which felt more like cheap ploys to keep young viewers interested in a storyline about democracy. Honestly, this episode was pretty cheesy and didn't offer much in the way of substantial content or callbacks. Despite the month-long hiatus, you'd think Disney Channel would have already aired this episode the day before midterm elections, but better late than never I suppose. Going off of that, it wasn't surprising that this week's Girl Meets World pitted Lucas, Farkle and Riley (with campaign manager Maya) against each other for school president. Fans of Corey Fogelmanis grew up watching him as the adorkable Farkle Minkus on Girl Meets World, the spin-off of Boy Meets World. But since the Disney Channel series ended two years ago, Corey.
